March - Easter Basket Drive

Each year it is our goal to serve over 300 neglected and abused children by providing them with the joy of having a Easter Basket. True Passion of Oakland Easter Basket Drive serves children from birth to 15 years old. You can help in several ways:

• Making and donating Easter Baskets
• Donating items to go in the baskets
• Making a monetary donation to True Passion of Oakland designated for Easter Baskets
• Volunteer

If you would like to make Easter Baskets to Donate, here is a recipe and some ideas. All baskets should be age and gender appropriate. A Great Basket Includes:

• One basket or plastic bucket
• Easter grass
• 5 filled plastic eggs
• Wrapped candy
• Small stuffed animal or book
• Baskets should be wrapped in cellophane

This is a great project for kids of all ages to participate in- get a group of friends, co-workers, church members or even scouts together to make baskets as a fun and meaningful way to help others. Your support is greatly appreciated!

 

 

June - August - Back-to-School Drive

Each year, with the help of our community, True Passion of Oakland prepares more than 1,000 children to start school with new school supplies

You can help in several ways:

• Create a drive and collect new school supplies to donate
• Make a financial donation to True Passion of Oakland with BTS in the memo line
• Volunteer to help with school supply inventory, and packing backpacks

 

Sometimes the only difference between being an A student and a failing student is having the basic school supplies to do homework and active school participation. Because 64% of the children served by True Passion live on a family income of less than $37,010 annually, after the most basic of needs of the family are met, school supplies may not fit into that budget. With a donation of only $25, you can ensure a child starts the school year off with the right tools for success.
